Key features include support for printing barcodes, receipts and various other things directly from a web page, support for sending various commands to a RAW, ASCII, EPL2, CHR, ESC/P or ZPLII printer, easy integration in commercial applications thanks to its open source license, as well as AJAX compatibility by using JavaScript to control print jobs.

The project supports advanced and basic HTML labels straight to a supported LaserJet, Zebra, Intermec, Citizen, Epson, as well as any other supported PostScript, thermal, label or magnetic card printers connected via parallel, serial, network, socket, COM, LPT, LPR or USB connections.
