    OpenGoo description

An open source web-based office suite.

OpenGoo is an open source web-based office suite. It is a complete solution for every organization to create, collaborate, share and publish all its internal and external documents.

OpenGoo is run by the effort of many people who find motivation in its mission, or perceive a possible business opportunity, or do it as an academic task, or just for the fun of it, or all of the above.

The pieces and framework that OpenGoo uses are made by hundreds of thousands of developers all around the world.

Just about anybody can help OpenGoo, and we are always seeking for help to come aboard and join OpenGoo.

OpenGoo is built using two strategies:

First, there is the mashup approach. This means OpenGoo takes many existing OpenSource projects, and "glues" them by developing tools to easily integrate them and make them look and feel like one single application.

Secondly, there is the classical approach, where we build a new piece of software. This will be the case when no OpenSource alternative convinces the OpenGoo team. Current work is being done in Java/JEE, due mainly to the background of the development team.

We aim to develop a system that is:

    - Easy to install
    - Cross-platform
    - Secure
    - Open Source
    - Easily Extendable
