TuxShop is a modern point of sale and retail management application, that is supported on Linux and Windows-xp. It is feature packed yet still manages to provide an interface that is as simpler than a cash register to operate.
And yes, its now free as intended by the GPL, you are encouraged to make donations though. Making a donation will add you to my list of supported clients, you then get priority support, and if your donation exceeds ZAR 1000.00 p/a I will even send you up to three CD's with the latest major release for that year.
Supported clients are also notified of any bugs and fixes via email as they occur.

· Fixed a problem where discounts of 100% were not possible
· A bug where the cost of inventory was incorrect in daily sales reports for items with similar descriptions was fixed
· Added a report for voided documents
· Voiding a document now requires the cashier to enter a reason for the void.
