eduMagnet was created for the OLPC project and allows users to search for educational videos on various online video services (YouTube, TeachersTube, Blip.Tv, etc). Video access is realized with a Python Plug In Interface, so that advanced users may enable access to new Video Services on the platform.
All Users are encouraged to create collections of Videos and to publish these collections on the dedicated website. Further planned features include the direct exchange of videos and video collections between OLPC clients, the exploration of different channels per Video Service and integrating comments.

· Project eduMagnet has released the third public release of its Internet video player software. The eduMagnet desktop player allows users to find and watch online educational videos easily.
· Version 0.09 features a contactlist, the player now shows the video while seeking and we have a download history. It also has a new Legal Torrents Magnet.
· We like to hear some feedback, so try it out. You can get a source package, the .DEB files and the ISO of an OLPC Live System which will make your netbook boot into the One Laptop per Child OS with eduMagnet already installed.
