GNU Paint (gpaint) is a simple, easy-to-use paint program for GNOME, the GNU Desktop. Gpaint starts as a port of xpaint and takes advantages of features unique to the GNOME environment. The project is licensed under the GNU GPL, version 2 or later.
Here are some key features of "GNU Paint":
Â· Drawing tools--ovals, freehand, polygon, text, with fill or shallow for polygons and closed freehand.
Â· Cut and paste by selecting irregular regions or polygons.
Â· Print support using gnome-print (still flaky, will be improved upon next release)
Â· Modern, ease-to-use user interface with tool and color palettes
Â· Editing multiple image at the same time without runnng multiple instance of the image editor
Â· All image processing features present in xpaint
What's New in This Release:
Â· libglade is now a requirement.
Â· Some UI adjustments were made in dialogs to fit the GNOME conventions.
Â· The Gtk+ standard about box is used.
Â· GtkPrint is used to do printing when the GTK+ version is 2.10 or later.
