mhWaveEdit is an open source graphical application that lets users to record, edit and playback sound files on their Linux-based operating systems.

mhWaveEdit features only basic editing functionality, such as cut, paste and volume adjustment. It can use the Ladspa effect plugins, as well as the sound effects provided by the SoX application.

Besides WAV, the application is also capable of supporting additional file formats through libsndfile, lame and oggenc/oggdec, making the perfect tool for editing small audio files.

mhWaveEdit also supports OSS, Jack, ALSA, SDL, EsounD, and PortAudio, for sound playback and recording.
