Song Teacher is a simple, multi-platform and free software project that has been designed from the offset to help users sing along with any song, using on-screen lyrics. The software automatically downloads the song's lyrics from the Internet.
Features at a glance
With Song Teacher, users will be able to teach song lyrics, organize karaoke nights, learn how to sing using OSD lyrics, sort the playlists from best known to least known, score yourself as you sing, choose between three main section (Instrumental, I know this part and What’s this part again?), the ability to change the volume, as well as to skip finished parts.
Easy to use GUI
The program’s graphical user interface (GUI) is easy to use, displaying all the necessary controls and functions visible at all times. You will be able to view the track’s title and artist’s name, as well as to fast forward, rewind, play, stop or navigate between songs in playlist. Most of the window is dedicated to the lyrics section.
From the Options window, you will be able to set the number of required successes, set the red delay and repeat lead in seconds, choose a default action that takes place after each song, enable lyrics scrolling, choose the target location for storing songs, as well as to set the times for skipping finished parts.
Under the hood and availability
The application is written entirely in the Java programming language and its available for download for free as a universal JAR file that can requires no installation and allows users to use the program on any operating system where the Java Runtime Environment is available (see the next section for details).

Being written in Java, Song Teacher is a cross-platform software, supporting GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, BSD, Solaris, and any other operating system where JRE and VLC Media Player are available. It has been successfully tested with both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.
