Jaikoz is a commercial, freely distributed and multiplatform software project that has been designed from the ground up to act as an audio tagger for the MP3 file format. It supports editing of ID3v1, ID3v2, ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags.
Features at a glance
With Jaikoz you will be able to repair your audio tracks from Discogs and MusicBrainz, delete duplicates, retrieve artwork from the Internet (automatically), rename files from metadata, update MusicBrainz, find missing songs from albums.
Additionally, the application supports advanced genre, advanced field, Unicode characters, hidden characters, multiple languages, split screen view, as well as find and replace functionality. Besides MP3, the software supports OGG Vorbis, MP4, M4A, M4P, FLAC and WMA audio files.
Distributed in two editions
Jaikoz is distributed in two editions, Standard and Pro. The main differences between these two editions is that the former is free, supports only 5,000 queries a day and the local Musicbrainz server is limited to one query per second.
Both editions offer unlimited MusicBrainz and acoustid searches, duplicate deleter, full editing, export and import to spreadsheet format, ability to save artwork to filesystem, ability to submit new releases, barcodes, acoustIds, genres and puids to MusicBrainz, as well as the ability to add or remove songs from your MusicBrainz collection.
Under the hood and supported OSes
The software is written entirely in the Java programming language, including its graphical user interface. This means that is will run well on all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. Both 32-bit and 64-bit computers are supported at this time.
Availability and pricing
Users can download a trial version of Jaikoz for free from Softpedia or the official website, but they will have to buy the full version, which costs 30 USD (24 EUR or 20 GBP), to use the program without limitations, with free updates and unlimited email support for life.
