Discid is a program to calculate the disc-ID for audio compact discs.
Discid is a program to calculate the disc-ID for audio compact discs. It is written in C++ to generate a disk-ID by reading the track-info of a compact disc. The disc-ID is used to identify discs at CDDB-Servers and send queries to CDDB-Servers to get information about Disc-Title, Artist, Track-Titles and more.

INSTALLATION:

There are three methods:

1. Install the RPM-Distribution for Linux systems.
2. Copy the TGZ distribution contents to your local computer and compile.
3. Copy the executable discid-file to a directory, within the current path. On Linux this might be /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin.

HOW TO USE:

$ discid [device]

If no device is given, the following devices are taken as a default:

/dev/cdrom
