Deejayd is an audio/video player daemon (like MPD or XMMS2).

It is written in Python and based on Twisted for networking and GStreamer or Xine for multimedia playback.

Deejayd uses its own protocol consisting in the exchange of XML messages. See the Clients page to get a list of software explicitely written to use this new protocol.
