Yoper Xfce For Linux

Yoper Xfce is an open source, independent and freely distributed operating system based on the Linux kernel and the lightweight Xfce graphical desktop environment. The Yoper Linux operating system comes in multiple editions, with the KDE3, KDE4 or LXDE desktops.

The Xfce edition of Yoper Linux is available for download for free on Softpedia as a Live CD ISO image that fits on a CD disc and supports old and modern computers, running on 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms. The ISO image can also be written on a USB thumb drive.

When booting the Live CD from the BIOS of a PC, using either a CD disc or a USB key, the user can choose between live and install mode. We strongly recommend you to select the Live CD mode, as it will allow you to try the operating system without any change to your computer. The third choice is to reboot the machine.

As mentioned, the distribution is built around the Xfce desktop environment, which uses a traditional layout comprised of a single panel. The panel is actually a taskbar and allows the user to easily navigate the main menu, launch applications, interact with running programs, cycle between the four virtual workspaces and interact with the system tray area.

With Yoper Xfce you will be able to surf the Internet using Mozilla Firefox, manager archives with Xarchiver, chat on IRC with friends using XChat, watch movies and listen to your favorite artists using Xfmedia, as well as to rename files with Bulk Rename. Unfortunately, this Yoper edition includes only a small selection of open-source applications, forcing users to install many others for their daily computing needs.
