editor's review

Ultimate Linux Mint is an open source and free distribution of Linux derived from the widely used Linux Mint operating system. It is built around the beautiful and customizable Cinnamon desktop environment and includes a vast amount of software packages.

Supports only 64-bit computers

The distro is available for download as a Live DVD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for the 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architecture. It’s a hybrid ISO image, which means that you can burn it onto a DVD disc or write it on a USB flash drive of 4GB or higher capacity.

Minimal boot menu with essential options

While the Live DVD boot menu is minimal. it includes essential options, such as the ability to try the operating system without installing it, start the installer directly, as well as to boot an existing OS that is currently installed on the first disk drive detected by the BIOS.

Cinnamon is the default desktop environment

The graphical session looks attractive and productive, comprised of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen.
