Silicon Valley Swift Linux is a free, low on resources and open-source distribution of Linux based off of Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) GNOME. It replaces the GNOME desktop environment with the IceWM window manager and includes a special Silicon Valley wallpaper.

The operating system can be downloaded as a Live CD ISO image that has approximately 700MB in size and works well on both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) computer platforms.

Users must burn the ISO image onto a blank CD disc or write it on a USB stick in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC and use the live system or install the distribution on their computers.

While the live system will start automatically in 10 seconds from the moment the users boot that Live CD from the BIOS of a computer, you can press any keyboard key to access various advanced boot options, such as the ability to run a memory test, boot from the local drive or start the live system in compatibility mode.

As mentioned, the main emphasis of this Swift Linux edition is on Silicon Valley. The IceWM window manager has been customized with a Silicon Valley wallpaper.

Silicon Valley Swift Linux comes with a rich software collection, mostly lightweight applications that are resource-friendly. Among them, we can mention the Iceweasel web browser, Sylpheed email client, Transmission torrent downloader, Geany IDE and mtPaint graphic editor.

The LibreOffice office suite, Synaptic Package Manager, Simple Scan image scanner, ROXTerm terminal emulator, GNOME MPlayer video player, BleachBit system cleaner and GDebi DEB package installer are also included.
