Prima Linux LXDE
Prima Linux LXDE is an open source and free operating system based on the Ubuntu Mini Remix distribution and built around the LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) graphical environment and specific applications.
Availability, supported architectures and boot options
The distribution can be downloaded as a single Live CD ISO image of approximately 500MB in size, specifically engineered for the i386 (32-bit) architecture. The user can burn the ISO image to a CD disc or write it to a USB flash drive of 512MB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of the PC.
It features the same boot loader that can be found on the main Ubuntu Desktop edition, engineered to automatically start the live session in ten seconds. If any key is pressed during this timeout, the boot menu will be revealed, allowing the user to choose a language, try the operating system without installing, run a memory test, boot an existing OS, and install the distro without testing it (not recommended).
Fast, clean and familiar desktop environment, but only in Russian
As mentioned, the operating system uses the LXDE desktop environment, which provides users with a fast, clean and familiar graphical session comprised of a single taskbar located on the bottom edge of the screen, from where the user can access the main menu, launch applications and interact with running programs.
Default applications include the VLC Media Player, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Skype VoIP client, Brasero CD/DVD burning utility, uGet download manager, Transmission torrent downloader, Medit text editor, BleachBit system cleaner, GParted partition editor, Grub Customizer, and many other system utilities.
Summing up, Prima Linux's primary target is the Russian Ubuntu community, providing them with a lightweight, LXDE-based distribution of Linux suitable for low-end machines and computers with old hardware components.
