Note OS Lite For Linux

Note OS Lite is an official edition of the Note OS (also known as Notebook OS) GNU/Linux operating system that delivers a custom and unique distribution of Linux designed for notebook and netbook computers, as well as other devices with small screens, such as tablets. The Lite edition has been created to be used on computers with CD drivers and offers fewer features than the Pro edition.

The Lite edition of Note OS is available for download for free on Softpedia, as a Live CD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for 32-bit (x86) laptops. To use it, the user must burn the ISO image onto a blank CD disc or write it on a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity (recommended).

Default boot options include the ability to start the live system with normal configuration, in verbose mode, in safe graphics mode or in safe mode, with support both 32-bit instruction set architectures only. It is also possible to boot the currently installed operating system.

Similar to the Pro edition of Note OS, the Lite flavor features the same graphical desktop environment that offers a unique feeling, specially designed for the small screens of notebook and netbook computers. Its layout comprises of a transparent taskbar located on the upper part of the screen, from where users can interact with opened windows and programs, as well as to access the main menu and the system tray area.

When compared with the Note OS Pro edition, Note OS Lite comes pre-loaded with a lightweight set of features. However, it still includes a web browser, a text editor, a timewatch, a calendar, an addressbook, an image viewer, a music player, a clock, as well as a webcam viewer.
