Bella OS For Linux

Bella OS is a freely distributed and open source Linux kernel-based operating system derived from Ubuntu and built around the lightweight Xfce desktop environment. In fact, Bella OS is based on the Xubuntu Linux distribution. It aims to become a beautiful and user-friendly computer operating system for desktops and laptops.

The latest version of Bella OS is currently distributed as a 64-bit Live DVD ISO image that has approximately 1.5 GB in size and contains software packages optimized only for 64-bit hardware architectures.

The ISO image is hybrid, which means that the user can burn it onto a DVD disc using any CD/DVD burning software, as well as to write it on a USB flash drive of 2GB or higher capacity using Unetbootin or Disks.

The boot options of the Live DVD are standard for a Ubuntu/Xubuntu derivative. Users will be able to start the live system with default options or in safe graphics mode, run the installer directly (not recommended), perform a memory test, or boot from the local disk.

As mentioned, Bella OS is built around the Xfce desktop environment, but what we didn't mention is the fact that Xfce has been highly customized. It features a modern layout comprised of a dock (application launcher) located on the bottom edge of the screen, which is hidden by default, and a panel on the upper side of the screen.

The software collection of Bella OS is pretty standard too. You will find popular open source apps like the LibreOffice office suite, Mozilla Firefox web browser, VLC Media Player multimedia playback software, Transmission torrent downloader, and FileZilla file transfer client.

The Mozilla Thunderbird, Banshee, Brasero, XChat, Pidgin, GIMP, Shotwell, Xfburn, Mousepad, KeePassX, Simple Scan, Parole Media Player, BleachBit, and Synaptic Package Manager are also included in the Bella OS operating system.
