4MPlayer For Linux

From the creator of the independent 4MLinux operating system based on the Linux kernel, we’re introducing you to 4MPlayer, a live and bootable distribution of Linux built around the popular MPlayer multimedia player application and the powerful FFmpeg multimedia framework software. It is designed from the offset to act a as portable media player solution for personal computers.

The 4MPlayer operating system is currently distributed as part of the 4MLinux project, as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image that has approximately 40 MB in size and can be used from either a USB flash drive or a CD disc. The distro is bootable on computers supporting 32-bit or 64-bit CPU architectures.

A boot menu is provided by default on the Live CD, allowing the user to start the live system with default display options or with VESA framebuffer (safe graphics mode) in case the first options does not recognizes the video graphics card installed in your computer. The ISO image is instructed to automatically start the first option in ten seconds from the moment you boot it from the BIOS of your PC.

While the MPlayer software will ensure a smooth playback experience for all your media files, the FFmpeg multimedia framework makes sure that any type of media file (audio, video, image) is recognized by the MPlayer software.

The MPlayer software will appear immediately after booting the live system, making 4MPlayer the perfect solution for people who are always on the move and just want to watch some movies without having to install all sorts of codec packs and media player software.

Pressing the ESC button on your keyboard will give you access to the ALSA Mixer software, which helps you to adjust the sound volume. Press the ESC key again to return to the MPlayer window.
