Reloadchromezilla is an extension that forces your Mozilla client not to require a restart.
With a disabled XUL Cache, will reload your chrome in Thunderbird so that no restart is required to see changes in your extension!
Keep in mind that You'll have to configure a lot of stuff for this to work.

For Thunderbird developers, you may be a little disturbed to see a .xul error while reloading the chrome--fear not, this will pass, and you will be able to see your changes. Plus, you receive the added bonus of impressing everyone with the temporary catastrophic destruction of Thunderbird!
