InGmane is a Thunderbird add-on that tries to open a given message in Gmane using its Message-Id header and http://mid.gmane.org interface.
Obviously a message should have appeared on at least one mailing list that is monitored by Gmane.
This should come handy if you want to refer to a public discussion that you had in past: things you posted, things posted in reply, entire threads. Gmane web interface is very convenient.
How to Install in Thunderbird:
1. Right-click the link below and choose "Save Link As..." to download and save the file to your hard disk.
2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, open Add-ons from the Tools menu.
3. Click the Install button, and locate/select the file you downloaded and click "OK".
