It is written in JavaScript/HTML5/CSS, using the new node-webkit toolkit. It’s a tool to read, download, and convert videos.

Search and convert videos easily

Another interesting feature is that StreamStudio can transcode video files using the powerful FFmpeg software, which supports a wide range of video file formats, including the commong AVI, MPEG, MOV, or MKV.

Additionally, you can choose a video quality and set it as default for each video. At the moment, the software supports 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p presets. StreamStudio comes with 9 plugins, including YouTube, Dailymotion, Twitch, Kickass, T411, OMG Torrent, and Cpasbien.

Video can be watched via UPnP

StreamStudio lets you watch video files via the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) protocol on compatible devices, such as gaming consoles (PS3, Xbox), Media Servers or smart TVs. It also supports live transcoding and reading of locally stored files.

Both client and server components are implemented in the application, which allows you to stream live or internally via the built-in StreamStudio player or by using a popular media player software, such as VLC or MPV.
