TraxAuth is a web-based user account registration, management and maintenance system, written in Python.
TraxAuth is a web-based user account registration, management and maintenance system, written in Python. This project was started in order to provide the codeTRAX users with a way to register and manage their accounts.

The project is being co-developed by CodeTRAX.org and G-Loaded.eu and is released under the terms of the Apache License version 2.

Requirements:

a web server (TraxAuth has been tested with Apache web server only)
mod_python
pysqlite (tested with 2.3.x versions only)

Configuration:

Once TraxAuth is installed in the system, you will have to set it up for your website.

(These steps will change in future versions)

-1- Create two directories:

i) the first should be outside the DocumentRoot, as it will contain the configuration file, the log file and the user database.
ii) The second should be created inside the DocumentRoot, as this will hold the TraxAuth files that should be publicly available.

-2- Run 'tx-admin'. It will ask you for the paths you had created in step 1.

-3- The 'tx-admin' output will guide you on which files and directories to give write access to the user that runs your web server.

-4- The 'tx-admin' output will also guide you on what directives you should add to httpd.conf (in case you use Apache) in order to run TraxAuth.

-5- Go through the 'traxauth.ini' configuration options in order to customize your installation. MAKE SURE you set proper information in the 'smtp' section.
