Hathi Download Helper For Linux

Hathi Download Helper is an open source, portable, multiplatform, easy-to-use, easy-to-install and freely distributed graphical application designed to allow you to effortlessly download books from the hathitrust.org website.

Key features include the ability to download PDF documents, images and OCR text files, export download link lists, create batch jobs that allow you to download multiple books simultaneously, merge multiple PDF files into a single PDF book, support for HTTP/HTTPS proxies and web proxies, as well as to convert image files to a PDF book or multiple PDF documents.

The application allows users to create searchable PDF files, includes an update checker that automatically updates the application, offers an easy-to-use and straightforward GUI (Graphical User Interface) whose style and font can be adjusted as you see fit, and supports page setup for PDF printers, including A4, A3 and letter.

The application is distributed for free on Softpedia as a sources archive in rar file format. To install it and use it on your computer, download the archive, save it somewhere on your computer, unpack the rar file and open a terminal emulator.

In the terminal window, use the ‘cd’ command to navigate to the location of the extracted archive files and run the ‘qmake && make’ command to compile the project. After a successful compilation, you can install the app system wide with the ‘make install’ command as root or with sudo.
