Appweb or Embedthis Appweb is an open source, portable, fast, compact, small, free, cross-platform and efficient command-line program that has been engineered to deliver an embedded server designed solely for testing dynamic web applications.

Appweb is a standards compliant application that supports the HTTP/1.1, HTTP/1.0, HTTP RFC 2617, CGI/1.1 and SSL RFC 2246 protocols. In addition, the Ejscript web framework is compatible with the ECMA-357 and ECMA-262 protocols.
Getting started with Appweb
Installing the Appweb software on your GNU/Linux operating system is an easy task. All you have to do after downloading and saving the latest version of the program on your computer, is to extract the contents of the archive, open the Terminal app, navigate to the location of the extracted archive files (e.g. cd /home/softpedia/appweb-4.6.5), run the ‘./configure && make’ command to configure and compile the software, followed by the ‘sudo make install’ command to install it system wide.
Supported operating systems and hardware platforms
Appweb is successfully supported on all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the Solaris, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. The 64-bit (x86_64), 32-bit (x86/i386), ARM, PowerPC, MIPS, Sparc and SH CPU architectures are supported at this time.
