ext-youtube is a Firefox extension that will automatically play YouTube videos in an external video player app. It allows you to setup any player you want, along with specific configuration options.

ext-youtube is an open source add-on designed to work with Mozilla Firefox 9.0 and later.

This add-on doesn't require you to restart the web browser.
