SoundPlus is a Thunderbird add-on that enhances the audio capabilities of the e-mail client. It is possible to customize the sound that is played when a new message arrives for a particular contact in the address book. It is similar to incoming sounds of mobile phones.
Besides the sound played when a new message arrives there is a sound variation that is played when a message arrives and it is a continuation of a thread. In that way, it is possible to know that the message that has just arrived is the beginning or the continuation of a previous conversation.
In Thunderbird Options (Preferences) General Tab it is possible to activate the SoundPlus feature (SoundPlus 1.0).
In Thunderbird Adds-on window it is possible to activate the SoundPlus feature, clicking the SoundPlus Options button (SoundPlus 1.1).
In the Address Book Contact Card, a SoundPlus Tab permits to set the customized sound for a person.
How to Install in Thunderbird:
1. Right-click the link below and choose "Save Link As..." to download and save the file to your hard disk.
2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, open Add-ons from the Tools menu.
3. Click the Install button, and locate/select the file you downloaded and click "OK".
