PrevNextArrows is a Firefox extension that adds four buttons to the status bar. One to go forward to the next webpage or image in a series, one to go backward, one to go to the start, and one to display a gallery. Works on pages that are numbered sequentially. Works both with and without zero-padding.
To test, navigate to:
http://www.katebaileyphotographer.co.uk/flowers/original/flower10.jpg
and then press the buttons in the bottom-right corner to go to the next or previous image or to open a gallery of photos.
