    Phrogsy description

Phrogsy provides an implementation of webpage proxying.

Phrogsy provides an implementation of webpage proxying.

Phrogsy is a client (FireFox extensions) and server (PHP or Perl webpage) implementation to do "webpage proxying". Using this technique, you could increase browsing privacy.

By using a dynamic script as an actual proxy server, you could cover browser activity and bypass URL based restrictions. Additionally, if your proxy webpage resides on an SSL server, even content filtering appliances could be evaded.

Note that Phrogsy consists of two different parts, as mentioned above. A firefox extension, and a server script. The server script can be downloaded from the author's webpage.

If you analyse what a proxy server does, you will find out, it is not much more than forwarding a request. In the case of an HTTP proxy, a web request is sent to the proxy server, optionally processed, and forwarded to the target webserver. The HTTP response is captured, again optionally processed, and forwarded to the original requestor.
