Double Click Closes Tab is a Firefox extension that allows you to double click not just tab, but anywhere on a webpage to close the current tab (unless you double clicked to select some word/symbol for copy/dictionary etc. usage). Or, if you want to be safe, switch to 'triple clicks' or 'double right clicks' in "Options".
Personally I found double right clicks is the best (safe+convenient) on all web pages, triple clicks with a short time (like 650 milliseconds in options) 2nd best.
Don't forget to check out my "TableTools" extension that lets you sort/filter/search/copy any HTML tables in FF. Any contribution to that extension would help this one too!

Requirements:
· Mozilla Firefox
Limitations:
· Occasionally double left clicking on some areas in a page does not close the tab (double clicking other areas of the page or the tab itself still closes tab). This is unfortunately NOT a bug with this extension but instead due to browser's sometimes-weird select-text behavior. That's partially why I'm suggesting double right clicks or triple clicks to close tab to be the best.
