PowerDNS Oracle Backend provides a backend which allows PowerDNS to use Oracle as its data store.
PowerDNS Oracle Backend is a backend driver for the PowerDNS nameserver which allows DNS data to be stored in an Oracle database. PowerDNS can load backend modules at runtime. This backend is fully configurable, and SQL statements can be specified in the configuration file.
Requirements:
PowerDNS Dynamic RPM/DEB Version 2.1 or higher PowerDNS Backend Development Kit Version 2.1 or higher gcc 3.0 gcc 3.0 libraries
If all the requirements are met, run 'make' followed by 'make install', run as root. Edit the Makefile if your Oracle client installation does not reside in /opt/oracle or the development kit is not in ../
If all proceeds as it should, PowerDNS should now have access to the 'oracle' backend. Enable it by specifying 'launch=oracle' in the documentation.
