Bitnami MODX Stack For Linux

Bitnami MODX Stack is a cross-platform and free software project that greatly simplifies the deployment of the MODX CMS application and its runtime dependencies, via native installers, virtual appliances or Docker containers. The application can also be deployed as cloud images on the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud services or as a module over an already installed LAMP infrastructure.

MODX is an open source, easy-to-use and free web-based application framework and CMS (Content Management System), allowing users to effortlessly create HTML templates, which can be pointed at CSS URLs, create tags that can be used across your entire website, as well as to create rich, dynamic websites.

To install the MODX software on your GNU/Linux desktop computer or laptop, download the native installer that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (64-bit or 32-bit), make it executable, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

In addition to installing MODX on your personal computer using the native installers, you can also deploy it on the cloud, thanks to Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting services.

Another interesting feature is the ability to virtualize MODX by using Bitnami’s multi-platform virtual appliance based on the latest stable release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system and designed to work under Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software.
