BitNami JBoss Stack 7.2.0-0
What is JBoss?
Developed by Red Hat, JBoss is a free, open source and platform-independent web application that has been designed from the offset to act as a middleware, a development environment that allows you to build and deploy enterprise-class apps in minutes, with minimum effort.
Installing BitNami JBoss Stack
For the JBoss application, BitNami offers native installer for all mainstream operating systems, allowing users to easily install JBoss and its runtime environment on their personal computers. To install JBoss, simply download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architectures (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Run JBoss in the cloud
Besides installing JBoss on your personal computer, you can also run it in the cloud with your own hosting provider or by using BitNami’s pre-built cloud images for Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.
The JBoss Docker container and virtual appliance
In addition, BitNami offers a virtual appliance based on the latest LTS (Long Term Support) release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system, which helps you to virtualize JBoss on the Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX, ESXi virtualization software. A JBoss Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s homepage (see link below for details).
The BitNami JBoss Module
Unfortunately, BitNami does not offer a module for the BitNami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack, BitNami MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack or BitNami WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) Stack products, which could have helped users to install JBoss without having to deal with its runtime dependecies.
