Bitnami Gallery Stack
Bitnami Gallery Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that greatly simplifies the installation and hosting of the Gallery web-based application, as well as of its runtime dependencies, on desktop computers and laptops running a mainstream operating system, such as Linux, Windows or Mac OS X.
What is Gallery?
Gallery is an open source, free, platform-independent and slick web-based application that has been designed from the ground up to deploy photo albums or image galleries in minutes. It includes a configuration wizard for easy installment and a wide range of attractive features.
Installing Bitnami Gallery Stack
The Bitnami Gallery Stack product is distributed as native installers, which have been built using BitRock’s cross-platform installer tool, designed for all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
To install Gallery on your personal computer, download the file the corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and operating systems, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Run Bitnami Gallery Stack
Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run their own Gallery server in the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.
Virtualize Gallery or use the Docker container
In addition to installing Gallery on your personal computer or deploy it in the cloud, you can also virtualize it using Bitnami’s virtual appliance for VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software, based on the latest version of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. The Gallery Docker container will be available for download on the project’s homepage (see link below).
The Bitnami Gallery Module
A Bitnami Gallery Module product is also available for those who want to deploy the Gallery application on top of an existing Bitnami LAMP, WAMP or MAMP stacks.
