Bitnami Chyrp Stack
Bitnami Chyrp Stack is a freely distributed and cross-platform software project that provides an all-in-one solution for deploying the Chyrp application and its runtime dependencies on real hardware, using native installers, virtual machines, cloud Images, as well as a Docker container.
What is Chyrp?
Chyrp is a blogging engine designed to be very lightweight while retaining functionality. It is powered by PHP and has very powerful theme and extension engines, so you can personalize it however you want.
Installing Bitnami Chyrp Stack
Bitnami’s stacks have been packaged using BitRock’s cross-platform installer tool and designed to run well on all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
To install the Chyrp application on your PC, you will have to first download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions.
Running your own Chyrp server in the cloud
Thanks to Bitnami, you also be able to run your own Chyrp server in the cloud with your hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image for the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.
Virtualize Chyrp or use the Docker container
Besides running Chyrp in the cloud or installing Chyrp on your desktop computer or laptop, you can also virtualize it using Bitnami’s Ubuntu-based virtual appliance designed for the VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software. Additionally, a Chyrp Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s homepage.
The Bitnami Chyrp Module
Chyrp can also be deployed on top of your existing Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP), Bitnami WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) and Bitnami MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stacks, thanks to the Bitnami Chyrp Module product, which can be downloaded for free on Softpedia.
