Bitnami Chyrp Module
Bitnami Chyrp Module is a freely distributed and multi-platform software project that can be used on top of a Bitnami LAMP, WAMP or MAMP stack, specially designed for the Chyrp application. The main difference between these product and the Chyrp stacks is that the former does not include its runtime dependencies.
What is Chyrp?
Chyrp is a blogging engine designed to be very lightweight while retaining functionality. It is powered by PHP and has very powerful theme and extension engines, so you can personalize it however you want.
Installing Bitnami Chyrp Module
Bitnami’s modules were built using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool, which means that they are compatible with the GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems, running perfectly on both 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
To install Chyrp on top of your Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP), MAMP (Mac, Apache, MySQL and PHP) or WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stacks, you will have to download the package that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Running Chyrp in the cloud or virtualize it
Thanks to Bitnami, users will also be able to run their own Chyrp server in the cloud by using the pre-build cloud images for the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers, as well as to virtualize it on the VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software, by using Bitnami’s Ubuntu-based virtual appliance.
The Bitnami Chyrp Stack and Docker container
If you want an easy-to-install and easy-to-use solution that greatly simplifies the installation and hosting of the Chyrp applications, as well as of its runtime dependencies, you can download the Bitnami Chyrp Stack product from Softpedia, free of charge. Additionally, a Chyrp Docker container will also be available for download on the project’s website.
