Mare Internum is a TBS (turn-based strategy) multiplayer game in the old days of Rome.
Up to 5 players occupy provinces, and are able to fight against each other with their troops like in some other strategy games.
The difference is, that you can't move around with your troops so easily and that the players can choose between some additive actions in every round, which are basic for the game. You can build fortresses to defend your provinces, buy troops, send an ambassador to the king to get some gifts, attack your enemies, hire new warlords or train your troops. The difficulty, is to choose wisely between these 6 actions, to get the optimum for your growing kingdom.
The winner is, who collected the most points by trading goods from the provinces and the provinces themselves.
