Intricacy For Linux

Intricacy is an open source, multiplatform and free video game implemented in Haskell, using the Curses and SDL libraries. It offers a competitive puzzle-design game for your Linux and Windows terminal.

The game runs directly from the command-line, and provides a turn-based, abstract puzzle game where the players need to pick locks, simply by co-ordinating a couple of tools in order to manipulate the lock’s mechanism. The catch is that you will be able to pick locks that are designed by other players.

To play the game, we strongly recommend to download the pre-built binaries, but keep in mind that if your Linux distribution runs in 64-bit mode, you will have to compile the program using the source archive (detailed installation instructions are provided at http://mbays.freeshell.org/intricacy/README).

On the main menu, you will be able to press the T key on your keyboard to play the tutorials, which will give you enough knowledge to continue with the real levels and, eventually, finish the game. Pressing the C key will allow you to choose a codename, which should be registers by pressing the R key.

Intricacy is written in the Haskell advanced programming language. It supports the Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. At the moment, the game is distributed as pre-built binaries for modern and old GNU/Linux systems, supporting only 32-bit architectures.
