Guess What is a MasterMind board game written using wxWidgets. Easy to play interface. Available for all platforms.

Many years ago when I was in college, one of my roommate brought us the plastic version of Mastermind game. I liked the game but forgot the name of it. Lately I thought it might be fun to write a little program to play it. I called it “Guess What” since it is all about guessing the colors. Once I found out it is called Mastermind, Google showed me hundreds of hits. Many of them are Java applet versions that can be played in web browsers. Instead of rename it back to maybe “Yet another*n Mastermind” (Since there is already a YAMM), I decided to keep the name. Not sure how easy it will be to find that through Google. Anyway, that is the story about the name.

Main features:

  • Multiple ways to change colors: Left click/Right click/Drag and drop
  • Optional numerical label on the color buttons
  • Pick game
  • Timer
