· GLSL shaders now support normal mapping glossiness, specular mapping, and soft self-shadowing on starships.
· Initial multiplayer support is included, with the ability to host your own servers for online play.
· The physics system has been revamped to support thousands of ships at once, giving the star systems a more lively feel, with lots of civilian craft.
· Support for DXT1 and DXT5 textures has been added, so load times are much smaller.
· esd and arts configuration can be avoided with this version, as it has an integrated soundserver.
