spectrwm is an open source and minimalistic window manager for X11 that features dynamic tiling, dynamic xrandr and multi-screen support.

spectrwm also provides navigation anywhere on all screens with either the mouse or keyboard, customizable status bar, human readable configuration file, restartable, quick launch menu, drag-to-float, resizable master area, user definable regions, user definable key bindings and modkey, user definable quirk bindings, user definable key bindings to launch apps, and much more.

What's New in version 2.3.0
  • This version adds the ability to move/resize floating windows beyond region boundaries.
  • It adds 'soft boundary' behavior to region boundaries.
  • When moving a window past the region boundary, the window will 'snap' to the region boundary if it is less than boundary_width distance beyond the edge.
  • A new boundary_width configuration option has been added.
