The Story of dwemo
Many people have used minimal window managers. In fact, if you are here,
I'm guessing you have used a minimal window manager or have at least
considered the possibility. I personally have used many. My problem with all
of them is that they lacked the exact functionality I desire, functionality I
believe necessary to be productive.
So I examined the chronological highlights of my window manager history:
· fluxbox
· openbox
· ion
· 9wm
· ratpoison
· xmonad
All of the aforementioned window managers were excellent in their own
right. However, I wanted something simple, configurable, and powerful
while maintaining an incredibly small footprint. Thus, the idea behind
dwemo was born.
The links above are provided for people to educate themselves and others
about other minimal window managers, and to provide sources to viable
alternatives, should dwemo not fit a particular user's needs.
