SlackE17 is a project of building and distributing the new Enlightenment DR17 (E17) window manager for the Linux Slackware distribution. Enlightenment DR17 is under heavy development but is stable enough for everyday use even if there was no official release yet. You will get more informations on the Get-E.org website.
Requirements:
- You need an official Linux Slackware for x86. If you did install intrusive third party softwares and run into problems, do not complain. It was made for vanilla Slackware.
Installation:
slacke17 is all what you need to run E17. There are a .tar.bz2 and a Slackware .tgz file. It's strongly recommended that you use the tar.bz2 file: it contains documentation and tools so you can make a minimum, standard or maximum install. You'll find a tool to create the .tgz if you really want. The .tgz at Sourceforge is only meaned for people that really know what will happen during installation.slacke17-src is meaned mostly for developers, most people will discard it.
To install, uncompress the tarball using tar xvjf, read carefully the README, INSTALL and NOT-E17 files, choose your installation type (like 'max') then run as root ./slacke17-install.sh max. Run xwmconfig or KDM and that's all.
