Boarded 0.1

On-screen keyboard for X11
  1 Screenshot
Boarded is a virtual on-screen keyboard for the X11 window system. It's intended to be used on mobile devices without a hardware keyboard. Boarded allows you to design your own keyboard layouts, specifying key positions, button grouping and setting own colors.

Due to the scalability of colors, button and text sizes, Boarded can also be interesting to visually impaired people, making it easier for them to access touch screen displays.

Main features:

  • Portable: written in Python, uses the PyGTK bindings
  • As you are familiar with: work with the virtual keyboard as with any hardware keyboard just by clicking on the letters, numbers or modificators you want to press
  • Highly scalable: adjust keyboard layout, colors and sizes as you like
  • Simple to use: move the keyboard window on your screen, resize it, hide keys that you don't need at the moment to save display space, hide the whole keyboard and restore it with one click
