Background Management is a tool that helps you to manage desktop wallpapers. It contains three tools:
chbg - sets its argv as background using feh. Also creates the symlink .config/wallpaper. If run without an argument tries to set said symlink as a background. Ideal for use in WMs startup script.
pickfile.py - Python script that picks a file from the dir given as argument at random. Used by randbg.
randbg Pick a file from the fir specified as first argument (using pickfile.py) and then sets it as background (using chbg).
History
I like to have a nice pic on my desktop background. After some time, every pic gets a bit old though, so I have a collection of images. In order to set them as a background, I have several small scripts to pick one at random and set it as bg with feh. To keep the bg over windowmanager restarts, the symlink .config/wallpaper is generated.
