changelog

RedQueryBuilder is an open source and completely free web-based application implemented in HTML and JavaScript, and designed to fill the gap between a full blown query language and a hand coded "quick search."

Can be used in an Intranet web application

It can be successfully used in an Intranet web application, where experienced users need a quick ad-hoc way to find blow-by-blow data, meaning that they don't have to ask a techie or report frameworks.

The application is written in pure JavaScript and features a client-side SQL parser that can load existing SQL databases within limits of the user interface, as well as non-GWT integration support, with JavaScript object configuration and event handlers.

Requires no installation

The software requires no installation and can be easily used by downloading the latest release from either the official homepage of the product (see link at the end of the article) or from Softpedia, save the archive on your Home directory or desktop folder and unpack it.

Then, open the extracted folder and double click on the index.html file, which will open in your default web browser application. You will see some quick start instructions that will basically tell you how to access the project’s comprehensive documentation and a richer live example.

The minimal example provided on the respective page will give you a short glimpse of what the RedQueryBuilder software can do. Being by selecting ‘Person’ from the drop-down box, and continue by adding a condition. You will notice that the output will change automatically, in real-time, as you make changes.

It’s platform independent

Being a web script, RedQueryBuilder is platform-independent, which means that you can use it on any operating system or computer hardware, as long as you have a supported web browser application. such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
