Home Media Librarian provides an application to catalog records, CDs, DVDs, etc.

HML is a pure Java client(GUI) application to catalog records, cd's, dvd's, etc.
HML requires a JDBC compliant database and driver.

The application is for the average person whom has a record, cd, dvd, tape, etc. music collection and wants to catalog this collection.

It has been tested with JDK 1.3 and 1.4 on Macintosh OSX, Linux, and Windows 2000 using MySQL and Connector J.

The distribution includes the software,documentation, and source code.

Requirements:

JDK

Assumptions
1) MySQL or another JDBC compliant database is installed on your system
2) You know how to build a database from a supplied definition
3) A JDBC driver for your database has been installed and available from your classpath setting
or is in the ../jre/lib/ext of your JDK install.

Steps
1) build the database from the db_def.txt script
2) edit the app_prefs.dat with your database/user information and place it in your home directory or if on Windows at c:
3) double click the hml.jar file and the application should start or start it from the commandline java -jar hml.jar
