GSTorrent is a Bittorrent client/server system. A daemon program handles all the file transfers as a Bittorrent client. The GSTorrent daemon also acts as a server for an external GUI client.
The objective is to have a relatively small Bittorrent client, which runs on a small computer without a graphical interface and to control this server from a different machine.
An example of this type of architecture is the mldonkey client/server system for the edonkey protocol.
What's New in This Release:
· Important bug fix. In the traffic, which is reported to the tracker, no protocol overhead is included anymore. This traffic was not very high, and about the same for upload and download, but it might trigger cheater scripts of private and ratio aware trackers.
· Upload/download traffic is made persistent between sessions, i.e. the amount of uploaded and downloaded bytes are not lost when the server is stopped/started. This feature is still a bit experimental.
· Tracer messages 'incomplete' and 'completed' are implemented in the server, but not yet used in the client.
