changelog

AeroFS is a free graphical and command-line utility that will run in the background as a daemon, designed to automatically synchronize your files between your PC and anyone you want to share data with.

Features at a glance

Key features include unlimited storage, allowing users to decide where they want to store their files and how to secure them. The sync service provided by AeroFS is very fast, as it doesn't rely on any existing cloud service, allowing data to be synced directly between your devices, without relying on remote servers, at the highest speed possible.

With AeroFS, your data is your own, as the files won’t be hosted on remote servers. Because of this, the software offers sync services of unlimited amounts of data. Be aware though, that the free version is limited to 1 - 3 teammates, as noted on the limitations section at the end of the description.

Integrates with your file manager

Another interesting feature is the ability to integrate with the default file manager of your operating systems, allowing you to easily share files and folders with friends, family and colleagues.

No matter what operating system you use at a certain point in time, if you have the AeroFS application installed, all the files that you want to be synced, will be synced, it’s just that easy. The only limitation will come from the Internet connection your device is connected at that moment.

The application resides in the tray area, from where the user can managed shared folders, view recent activity, view sync history, view active transfers, pause syncing for an hour, open the local AeroFS folder, as well as to tweak various parameters.

Supported operating systems

AeroFS is a multiplatform application that supports all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It has been successfully tested with both 64-bit and 32-bit hardware platforms.
