Mailman, the GNU Mailing List Manager, is an open source software that can be used to manage email discussion lists. It is similar to the Smartmail and Majordomo applications, but it gives to each mailing list its own web page, and allows users to subscribe and unsubscribe to lists over the web.

Mailman also integrates most things people want to do with mailing lists, including archiving, mail-to-news gateways, integrated bounce handling, spam prevention, email-based admin commands, direct SMTP delivery (with fast bulk mailing), support for virtual domains, moderated newsgroup support, privacy and moderation controls, and much more.
