Being designed with simplicity in mind, WhatsApp for Desktop aims to offer you the WhatsApp client you have always dreamed off. It aims to be a beautiful desktop client for the world's famous WhatsApp messaging platform.

WhatsApp for Desktop is not just a simple wrapper for WhatsApp Web, as it has been tweaked and optimized from the ground up to integrate perfectly into your favorite operating system, no matter the distribution of GNU/Linux used.

Key features of WhatsApp for Desktop include support for starting and joining group chats, support for sharing photos and videos, support for sharing your current location, support for opening links in the default web browser (in a tab or a new window), as well as native notifications.

The software supports for automatic launching during OS startup, system tray icon, a badge in the OS' dock or taskbar that displays the total number of notifications, and right-click context menu preferences, features that are available only for the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating system at the time or writing this review.

The Linux version of WhatsApp for Desktop has been designed especially for Ubuntu, the world's most popular free operating system, which means that it integrates with its built-in notification system to provide you with a real-time messaging platform that keeps you notified at all times.
