At the request of our readers, we have decided to make a quick video that showcases the installation of the latest Ubuntu Touch OTA-5 software update released by Canonical on July 20, 2015.

We reported on the new features implemented in the OTA-5 update for Ubuntu Touch in several articles posted on our website last week, but for those of you who are not in the loop we will enumerate below the highlights.

The biggest change is that the Unity 8 user interface of Ubuntu Touch now supports full-shell rotation. Additionally, some of the icons have been updated, there are multiple telephony and network improvements, and translations have been updated for all supported languages.

Moreover, OTA-5 comes with the Mir 0.13.3 display server, platform-api 3, new Ubuntu UI Toolkit version, and up-to-date core apps. On the other hand, OTA-5 brings interesting features only to Meizu MX4 users, such as battery life improvements, LED notification fixes, as well as a grid unit (GU) change for the main window.

In the video below, we are installing the OTA-5 update on our BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition smartphone. The installation process is not different from other OTA releases, and it is pretty boring if you ask us. Enjoy!
